since moving to nashville i have been a little bummed. maybe its a combination of things, but mostly i think its because of my inability to find a job. i love the city and the people here so much already, but im somewhat limited and confined to my house because of insufficient funds. everything was actually ok until i received my phone bill, which lead to crying at cingular. no one saw but i will say it was somewhat justifiable since paying the bill would have COMPLETELY depleted my bank account. all of this complaining and pity party business leads me to this, i am SO thankful for the people around me and i am going to let all of you(the five people that read this) know why.

-hanna and ryan have basically taken me in as their first child. they are constantly giving, not just financially, but also with their time and support. they cover my tab half of the time we go anywhere, mostly without my acknowledgment. for my birthday hanna was my surrogate mother, cooking me breakfast, taking me to nashville shores(our very own water park), and making strawberry cupcakes, my favorite!
-holly mac offered her phone for whenever i want to talk to billie for free mobile-to-mobile minutes. she is also the most thoughtful person i know and lets me eat her mint chocolate chip ice cream.
-carol bought me a 12 pack of coke and is a really great influence on me. for instance she wont let me talk bad about people.
-billie and dianne provide daily long distance encouragement, which lead to my monstrous phone bill.
-kate came last weekend and just her presence was a lift to my spirit. and on top of that, she and claire bought two of my meals because they are the best.
-erin mcpherson, knowing that i spend half of my week in book stores looking at magazines because i cant actually afford them, bought me 2 subscriptions to elle and jane!
-lesley and osayi supplied me with the beautiful, stemless wine glasses that i coveted at anthropologie for months. when i can afford the wine i like everyone is coming over to share in the goodness!
-my mom, because she is phenomenal and also because when i asked her for eye cream, she bought me the entire skin care line at khiels.
-jacob bean gave me $20 so i could see m.ward in a week!
-and on that note, the family i used to nanny for bought me 2 tickets to see sufjan the other night. hanna came with me to experience one of the best shows i've ever seen, blowing his last performance i saw out of the water.

after being here for a little over a month, i have had lovely visitors to bring me a taste of home and auburn!
mom and dad, lesley, lele, erin, kate, claire, eric, and new friend andy, and the list will grow considerably this weekend!

all of this to say that i am so lucky and His grace is sufficient, when i doubt He is still faithful.

while writing this, i am finally listening to the new tv on the radio-return to cookie mountain. AMAZING. thanks to bill and trav for the gift card to buy new jams! woot!
